Adult Impact

Adult Impact

If you are an adult looking to make a difference; if you have a passion for an idea you would like to see become a reality; or, if you would like to be a part of a truly “cutting edge” adventure in ministry—the Ministry of Adult Impact may be just the challenge you’ve been looking for.

The Adult Impact Ministries (AIM), which began in 2007, is a multi-faceted ministry designed to encourage and enable adults of all ages to make an Impact for Christ in their world. This is not a standalone ministry; it is a vital partner with every GABC ministry, identifying opportunities and equipping adults to get involved.

Hope For 100

ADOPTION, FOSTER CARE AND ORPHAN CARE MINISTRY

Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained from the world. — James 1:27 (CSB)

Hope for 100 was begun in 2009 as a way to challenge the members of GABC to make a difference in the lives of children. The original challenge was to provide a loving, Christian homes to 100 children through adoption and foster care. Within two years that goal was achieved. But the church showed no sign of slowing down. In 2014, the pastor again challenged GABC to provide for an additional 100 children by expanding it’s scope beyond through adoption and foster care. Hope for 100 is now looking to provide support through mentoring and sponsorship of a child through a supporting organization.

Widows In Need

Support widows who are genuinely in need. — 1 Timothy 5:3 (CSB)

The WIN Ministry is here to serve GABC Widows, Widowers and Single Senior Ladies with the non-emergency “honey-do” projects around the house. The WIN ministry also helps with things like technical assistance, transportation to medical procedures, plus many other services. The labor is FREE; you will only be responsible for the cost of parts or materials.

The work is performed by qualified volunteers who are members of GABC. For security purposes, all volunteers have completed a background check.

WIN also offers a “Car Care Day” each May and November. The leaders of the Car Care Day offer basic check-ups on the car to make sure they are in good working order. They also provide information on more serious needs that need a follow up visit to the mechanic.

WIN also provides support, encouragement and services for ladies as they begin the journey into widowhood.

In addition, WIN holds special events throughout the year to celebrate. Some of these events include: Valentine’s Day, Spring Banquet, Volunteer Recognition Banquets and Ice-Cream Socials.

To be a part of the volunteer team or to be a part of the WIN Leadership Team call the WIN Hotline at 903-525-3290 or email us.

Military Ministry

Be strong and courageous! Don’t be afraid or discouraged before the king of Assyria or before the large army that is with him, for there are more with us than with him. — 2 Chronicles 32:7 (CSB)

The GABC Military Ministry in conjunction with the mission statement of the church, exists to be a beacon of God’s light, love and hope to the men and women of the US Armed Forces and their families. It is our desire to minister through encouragement, prayer, pre- and post-deployment support, and to introduce ministry opportunities available at GABC.

Each summer, the Military Ministry is part of GABC’s “I Love America” presentation. They also help support other local ministries and organizations that support members of our military. Some of these opportunities include job placement seminars, military job fairs, and veteran’s recognitions. In addition, they support Campus Crusade’s “Rapid Deployment Kits” program which offers Bibles, devotional books and gospel tracks to the military.

The GABC Military Ministry is a proud annual supporter of the local Wounded Warrior Project.
