Adult Transformation

About Us

Adult Transformation Ministry (ATM), can be explained in this way. Jesus called His followers to a more abundant life; a life beyond the grind. However to receive this full life, God must TRANSFORM our natures into new creations. This transformation comes from our belief in Christ’s death and our submission to follow his teachings. Romans 12:2 says that we will be transformed by the renewing of our minds, which sums up the purpose of Sunday Morning Connect Groups.

Joining GABC

At the end of each worship service, we give an opportunity for people to respond called the “invitation.” During this time, worship participants who desire to join Green Acres may come to the front of the worship center where they will be greeted by a minister of the church. You will then be escorted to a private reception area where you will have an opportunity to learn more about the process of membership, fill out appropriate paper work, and have your picture taken. Alternately, you may come to the Bethany Suite after the conclusion of the morning worship services and speak with a decision counselor there. During the week, contact the church office at 903-525-1100, and we can schedule an appointment with one of our staff at your convenience.

To be a member of Green Acres Baptist Church you must first be a Christian who has been scripturally baptized. You may join by a “statement” of your faith or by moving your membership “letter” from another Baptist church. If you have not yet followed Jesus’ example in scriptural baptism, you can discuss it with one of the decision counselors or schedule a meeting with one of our ministers. If baptism in a worship service seems daunting to you, please contact us so we can offer other options.

If you have questions before joining, you can learn more about Green Acres in several ways. On Sunday mornings, come by the Information Desk in the grand foyer, or come to the Bethany Suite after a worship service. We also host a quarterly Pastor’s Connect Dinner especially for all new members and interested guests. Contact Candy Renfro, New Member Coordinator, for more information, 903-525-1153.

First Impressions

First Impressions began after recognizing the need to make this really big church feel smaller and more accessible for first time guests. The ministry strives to do this by warmly greeting guest and members in the parking lots, at all major entrances to the buildings, and providing information and directions at the various information desks located around the campus.

If you are new to Green Acres we would love to hear from you about your experience as a first time guest. Were the signs in parking lots and inside the buildings helpful? Were there greeters present at the entrance you used? Did you feel like a stranger or a welcomed family member? We want to hear both positive and negative feedback, so please don’t hesitate to send your comments to Lorin Roberts.

We're Glad You're Here!
