Small Beginnings, Mighty Impact | Thursday

Devotional
A mustard seed is tiny – almost invisible to the naked eye. Yet when planted, it grows into a tree large enough for birds to nest in its branches. Yeast is equally small, but it transforms an entire batch of dough from the inside out. Jesus used these illustrations to show us how His kingdom works. It doesn’t always arrive with fanfare or obvious power. Instead, it often begins in ways the world overlooks. Jesus Himself was born in a manger to poor parents in an obscure village. He never held political office, never commanded an army, never traveled far from home. He gathered twelve ordinary men – mostly fishermen – and changed the world. Today, Caesar is buried, Rome has fallen, but the name of Jesus Christ continues to be proclaimed throughout the earth. The kingdom of God starts small in individual hearts, but its transforming power becomes impossible to ignore. Every time one person surrenders to the Lord, the kingdom advances. It changes you once in salvation and continues changing you through sanctification. Don’t despise small beginnings in your own spiritual journey. That quiet moment of surrender, that simple prayer, that first step of obedience – these seemingly small acts can have eternal, world-changing impact.

Bible Verse
‘He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.”‘ – Matthew 13:31
