The Fire of Revival | Monday
Lanny Bridges

Devotional
Jesus declared with passionate urgency, “I came to bring fire on the earth. And how I wish it were already set ablaze.” This wasn’t about literal flames, but the transformative fire of God’s presence and spiritual revival. Christ’s heart burned with longing for authentic spiritual awakening in our lives, families, and communities. Throughout Scripture, fire represents God’s presence – both His holiness and His power to transform. Before this revival fire could be unleashed, Jesus had to endure His own baptism of suffering on the cross. His sacrifice opened the way for God’s transforming presence to work in and through us. Revival isn’t just a church event or emotional experience – it’s God’s fire burning away everything that hinders our relationship with Him and igniting our hearts with His love and purpose. The same fire that Jesus longed to see spread across the earth is available to us today. When we surrender to God’s presence, His fire begins to purify our motives, strengthen our faith, and empower us to live differently. This fire doesn’t destroy us – it refines us, making us more like Christ.

Bible Verse
“I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!” – Luke 12:49

Prayer
Lord Jesus, kindle Your fire in my heart today. Let Your presence burn away anything that keeps me from following You wholeheartedly.
