A Note from Michael Gossett | April 10, 2026
The Tomb is Still Empty!
Easter Sunday has come and gone, but I am still in awe of God’s goodness and faithfulness in our church. There are moments in ministry and in the life of the church where you step back and realize that what just happened was bigger than anything you planned or prepared for. This Easter was one of those moments. The Lord showed up in a way that was unmistakable, and I want to take a few minutes to celebrate that with you, because you were a huge part of it!
You showed up, but you also made the invite. Every invite we make is an opportunity for God to intervene and transform lives. This past Easter weekend, we saw 9,841 people come to one of our services at Tyler, Flint and Español. WOW! Praise God for this! This is around 1,500 more than just last year for Easter. Why does this matter? Because every number has a name, every name has a story, and every story matters to God. This represents souls who the Lord may be entrusting to us as a church to look after, pray for, help grow spiritually, and send out on mission. This number matters because people matter!
But here is the cool part…. People were saved! I want you to sit with that for a moment. Not statistics, not numbers on a report, but people. Men, women, and young people whose eternity has been rewritten. Prodigals who came home, names that are now written in the Lamb’s Book of Life! Jesus said in Luke 15 that when one sinner repents, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God. If heaven celebrated this Easter, then we should celebrate too. The resurrection of Jesus Christ that we proclaimed Sunday morning is not just a historical fact we rehearse once a year. It is the same power that is still raising spiritually dead today, and we watched it happen in our own church.
This is the power of the empty tomb! Thank you for praying, thank you for inviting, thank you for making people feel welcome, and thank you for being the church. I love getting to be your pastor. It is a joy and an honor to serve the Lord with you.
Until He returns, let’s keep it going!

If you have recently joined our church or are considering church membership, this class is for you! Starting Point is designed to give you a better picture of who we are as a church family. Together, we want you to have a clear understanding of our mission, vision, and values here at Green Acres Baptist Church — and help you discover how you can get connected.
This is a free brunch, and you’ll hear directly from our staff about the history of Green Acres, what we believe, and the next steps to plug into the life of our church.
For families with children (birth–elementary), childcare is available through Kids’ Ministry — just check them in at the Kids’ Atrium when you arrive.

Come bring your burdens, your praise, your requests, and your heart before the Father alongside brothers and sisters who love you and who are fighting the same fight. There is something that happens when we pray together that simply cannot be replicated alone. We need you there, and you need to be there. Come join us – Wednesdays at 6pm.
You are loved and prayed for!
