Embracing the Light | Friday
Devotional
When light enters a dark room, it reveals everything – both the beautiful and the messy. The same is true when Christ enters our lives. His presence illuminates areas we’d rather keep hidden: broken relationships, secret struggles, prideful attitudes, or areas of disobedience. Our natural response is often to get angry at the light, make excuses, or try to figure out how to live in the darkness. But there’s a better way: simply embrace what the light reveals. Instead of running from God’s conviction, we can welcome it as an invitation to freedom. When He shows us something that needs to change, it’s not condemnation – it’s love wanting to heal and restore us. The key to never straying from faith is allowing God into every single part of our lives, including those embarrassing crevices and difficult relationships. Don’t deny what He’s showing you. Don’t run away from His gentle correction. Embrace it, knowing that His light brings healing, not harm. Today, invite God to shine His light into every corner of your heart.
Bible Verse
“See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.” – Luke 11:35
Reflection Question
What area of your life have you been trying to keep hidden from God’s light, and how can you invite Him in today?
Quote
If we will simply let the. The light invade those parts of our lives, we don’t want him to. Those crevices that are a little embarrassing, those relationships that are just hard, if you will, you will never stray from your faith again if you let him into every part of it.
Prayer
Father, I invite Your light into every part of my life. Give me courage to embrace what You reveal and trust Your love in the process.
