The Foundation That Changes Everything | Friday
Dr. Michael Gossett

Devotional
Mary made a choice that day in Bethany – she chose to make feasting on Christ’s words her greatest priority. This wasn’t just a nice moment of spiritual inspiration; it was a foundational decision that would shape everything else in her life. When Jesus becomes our greatest priority, everything else flows from that relationship.

The early church understood this principle. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and as a result, they experienced God’s favor and saw people added to their number daily. Unity, growth, and impact all flowed from their commitment to God’s Word. Churches aren’t built on big budgets or impressive programs – they’re built on people who prioritize being with Jesus.

This is the abundant life Jesus promised – not a life free from challenges, but a life rooted in the only foundation that will never fail. When Christ is your greatest priority, you’re choosing a life of worshipful devotion that transforms everything else. Your relationships improve, your purpose becomes clear, and your impact multiplies because you’re operating from a place of spiritual fullness rather than emptiness.

Bible Verse
‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.’ – John 10:10

Reflection Question
If someone looked at how you spend your time and resources, would they conclude that Jesus is your greatest priority?

Quote
Everything else will fail if Jesus is not your greatest priority. This is the foundation by which everything else will flow.

Prayer
Jesus, I choose You as my greatest priority. Help me build my life on the foundation that will never fail.
