Belonging Completely to the Lord | Friday
Dr. Michael Gossett

Devotional
There’s something profoundly liberating about knowing exactly where you belong. In a world that constantly tries to define us by our achievements, relationships, or possessions, Jesus offers us a different identity altogether. When we follow Him through desire, denial, and daily cross-bearing, we discover a beautiful truth: we belong completely to the Lord.

This belonging isn’t based on our performance or our ability to measure up. It’s based on Christ’s finished work and our response of faith. When we belong to the Lord, we’re no longer slaves to the opinions of others, the pressure to succeed, or the fear of failure. We have a secure identity that can’t be shaken.

Belonging to the Lord means our lives have eternal significance. We’re not just living for temporary achievements or earthly accumulation. We’re part of God’s eternal kingdom, and our lives count in ways that will last forever. This gives meaning to even the smallest acts of obedience and service.

As we conclude this journey of understanding discipleship, remember that this call is supernatural. It’s not something we can accomplish through human effort alone. It requires the Spirit of God working in us, transforming us from the inside out. But when we respond to His call with desire, denial, and daily surrender, we discover the joy of belonging completely to the One who loves us most.

Bible Verse
‘But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.’ – Matthew 6:33
