Satisfaction Found | Friday
Dr. Michael Gossett

Devotional
After four days of exploring our hunger, our insufficiency, and our need, we arrive at the beautiful truth: satisfaction is available right now. Not in some future achievement or acquisition, but in Jesus Himself.

Jesus doesn’t just say, ‘I’ll give you what you’re looking for.’ He says something far more profound: ‘What you are searching for and longing for is me. It’s not what I can give you. It’s not what I provide for you. It is me.’

This changes everything. Satisfaction isn’t found in getting something from Jesus—it’s found in getting Jesus. It’s not about what He can do for you; it’s about who He is to you. There is no satisfaction apart from surrender.

As long as we live our lives pursuing the things of the world—even as followers of Jesus—we chip away at the satisfaction that is available in Christ alone. We’ll keep chasing, keep accumulating, keep achieving, keep building, and still have that void in our lives. That void is Jesus-shaped.

The reason we celebrate Christmas is because He came so that you may have life and be satisfied in Him. Not satisfied by Him, but satisfied in Him. He is both the gift and the giver, both the provision and the provider.

Today, you can stop searching. You can stop striving. You can rest in the truth that everything your heart has been longing for is found in Jesus Christ. He is enough.

Bible Verse
“David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.” – 1 Samuel 30:6

Reflection Question
What would it look like for you to stop pursuing satisfaction in worldly things and instead find your complete fulfillment in Jesus alone?

Quote
What you are searching for and longing for is me. It’s not what I can give you. It’s not what I provide for you. It is me.

Prayer
Jesus, I surrender my endless searching and striving to You. Help me find my complete satisfaction in who You are, not in what You can give me. Fill the void in my heart that only You can fill. Amen.
