Here Am I, Send Me | Friday
Devotional
After experiencing God’s sovereignty, holiness, and grace, Isaiah heard God asking, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ Without hesitation, Isaiah responded, ‘Here am I. Send me!’ Notice that Isaiah said yes without even knowing where God was sending him or what the mission would entail. This is the natural response of a heart that has been transformed by grace. When you truly understand what God has done for you, serving Him isn’t a burden – it’s a privilege. Isaiah didn’t volunteer because he felt qualified or because the job description sounded appealing. He volunteered because grace had given him a new perspective on life. The same is true for you. God isn’t looking for perfect people to serve Him – He’s looking for grateful people. You don’t need to have all the answers or feel completely ready. You just need to be willing to say, ‘Here am I. Send me.’ Your gifts and abilities matter, but what matters most is your heart’s response to God’s grace. When you’ve been forgiven much, you love much, and that love naturally flows into service.
Bible Verse
‘Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”‘ – Isaiah 6:8
Reflection Question
What is God calling you to do that you’ve been hesitating to say yes to, and how might your understanding of His grace give you the courage to respond?
Quote
It’s not really about what your gift is. It’s about the fact that all of us should be dead in our sins. But grace has given us another chance.
Prayer
Lord, like Isaiah, I want to respond to Your call with a willing heart. Help me to say yes to whatever You’re asking of me, trusting that Your grace is sufficient for whatever mission You have in mind. Here am I, send me. Amen.
