Vindicated by Our Lives | Friday
Dr. Michael Gossett

Devotional
Jesus concludes His teaching in Luke 7 with a powerful statement: “Wisdom is vindicated by all her children.” This profound truth reminds us that the proof of wisdom is in its results—in the lives of those who follow it.

When we submit to God’s wisdom rather than our own understanding, our lives become living testimonies. The fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—becomes increasingly evident. Our relationships deepen, our character strengthens, and our influence expands.

Conversely, when we reject God’s wisdom in favor of our own, the consequences eventually become apparent. Relationships fracture, peace diminishes, and spiritual growth stagnates.

Every generation is known for something. The question is: what will yours be known for? Will you be remembered as those who customized Jesus to fit your preferences, or as those who submitted to His lordship? Will your life vindicate the wisdom of God or demonstrate the folly of human autonomy?

Today, choose to be a child of wisdom. Submit to Christ’s authority, even when it’s challenging. Trust His design, even when it differs from your preferences. As you do, your life will increasingly vindicate the perfect wisdom of God.

Bible Verse
“For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by all her children.” – Luke 7:33-35

Reflection Question
How is your life currently vindicating (or failing to vindicate) the wisdom of God’s ways? What specific changes might demonstrate more fully that God’s design is best?

Quote
Wisdom will be vindicated by all her children. Meaning that, listen, your lives will prove the wisdom of God.

Prayer
Lord, I want my life to prove the wisdom of Your ways. Help me to submit fully to Your authority, trusting
that Your design is perfect even when it challenges my preferences. May those who observe my life see
evidence that following You leads to blessing, hope, and true fulfillment. Make me a faithful child of
wisdom. Amen.
