Trajectory, Not Perfection | Thursday
Devotional
One of the most encouraging truths about following Jesus is that He doesn’t expect perfection from us – He looks for trajectory. Your life in Christ isn’t measured by flawless performance but by the direction you’re heading. Think of it like a GPS system. When you make a wrong turn, the GPS doesn’t abandon you or declare your journey hopeless. It simply recalculates and guides you back on track. This is how God works in our lives. When we fail in our stewardship, when we stumble in faithfulness, the Holy Spirit doesn’t condemn us – He draws us to repentance and redirects us toward Christ. The key is maintaining our gaze on Jesus. You cannot depart from Christ while keeping your eyes fixed on Him. Faithfulness isn’t a self-generated achievement; it’s the natural fruit of a life that belongs to Jesus and stays connected to Him.
Bible Verse
‘My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.’ – John 10:27-28
Reflection Question
In what areas of your life do you need to shift from pursuing perfection to focusing on trajectory toward Christ?
Quote
Our lives in Christ is never about perfection. You’re not going to be a perfect faithful servant. Your life is not about perfection. It is about the trajectory of your direction toward Christ.
Prayer
Thank You, Jesus, that my security doesn’t depend on perfect performance but on Your perfect love. Help me keep my eyes fixed on You.
