The Diagnostic Tool | Tuesday
Devotional
Worry isn’t just an inconvenience – it’s actually revealing something important about your heart. Think of it like a check engine light in your car. When worry shows up, it’s diagnosing what you’re actually trusting in life. Are you trusting in your bank account, your job security, your health, or your relationships? When anxiety grips you, it’s often because something you’ve been depending on feels threatened. The word ‘worry’ literally means ‘divided’ – you’re being torn in two directions. Part of you wants to trust God, but another part is frantically trying to control outcomes. This internal division is exhausting, leaving you spiritually, mentally, and physically depleted. But here’s the encouraging truth: recognizing what worry reveals gives you the opportunity to redirect your trust back to the One who is truly trustworthy.
Bible Verse
‘Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?’ – Luke 12:25
Reflection Question
What does your current worry pattern reveal about what you’re truly trusting in instead of God?
Quote
Worry is a diagnostic tool to help us and to reveal to us what we are actually trusting in life.
Prayer
Father, help me see my worry as a diagnostic tool that reveals where I need to redirect my trust. Show me where I’ve been depending on things other than You.
