Singular Focus | Thursday
Devotional
While worry divides your heart and tears you in two directions, seeking God’s kingdom does the opposite – it creates singular, focused pursuit. Instead of asking ‘How can I get what I need?’ the question becomes ‘How can I make Jesus known today?’ This shift changes everything. When you wake up seeking first God’s kingdom, you’re not frantically trying to control outcomes or manipulate circumstances. You’re simply asking, ‘God, how do You want to use me today?’ This doesn’t mean being irresponsible or passive. It means living with the confidence that as you pursue God’s purposes, He will provide everything needed for that pursuit. The life of surrender is actually a life with no worries because your focus isn’t on what you lack or think you need – it’s on Christ. When your primary concern is advancing God’s kingdom, worry loses its grip because you’re trusting the King to handle the details.
Bible Verse
‘But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.’ – Luke 12:31
Reflection Question
What would change in your daily routine if your first thought each morning was ‘How can I make Jesus known today?’ instead of worrying about your needs?
Quote
When Jesus says, seek the kingdom and all these things will be given unto you, he’s saying that every that is needed for you to seek him will be provided unto you.
Prayer
Lord, help me seek Your kingdom first today. Give me a singular focus on Your purposes, trusting that You’ll provide everything I need to follow You faithfully.
