Daily Surrender, Daily Strength | Tuesday
Devotional
Following Jesus isn’t a one-time decision – it’s a daily choice that requires fresh commitment each morning. When Jesus spoke about taking up our cross, He wasn’t talking about a dramatic, once-in-a lifetime moment. He was describing the everyday reality of discipleship: the daily decision to put His will above our own.
Every morning brings new challenges, fresh temptations, and different opportunities to either follow our own path or surrender to Christ’s leading. This is why God’s mercies are new every morning – because we need them. Yesterday’s spiritual victory doesn’t automatically carry over to today’s battles. Each day requires a fresh choice to deny ourselves and follow Him.
This daily surrender isn’t burdensome; it’s liberating. When we start each day by acknowledging our need for Christ and choosing His way over ours, we tap into divine strength for whatever lies ahead. The cross we carry isn’t meant to crush us – it’s the pathway to abundant life. Today is a new opportunity to experience God’s fresh mercy and make the choice that leads to life.
Bible Verse
‘And he said to all, “If anyone wants to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”‘ – Luke 9:23
