From Death to Life | Monday
Devotional
Have you ever felt spiritually dead inside? Maybe you’ve gone through the motions of faith but felt disconnected from God’s presence. The truth is, we all start in this place. We’re born with cold hearts—spiritually dead and separated from God. But here’s the incredible news: Jesus didn’t come to make bad people good or good people better. He came to make dead people live! Think about that for a moment. When someone is physically dead, they can’t improve themselves or work harder to become alive. They need someone with the power of life to intervene. That’s exactly what Jesus does for us spiritually. He doesn’t just patch up our broken hearts or give us a spiritual tune-up. He performs the ultimate miracle—resurrection. This transformation isn’t about trying harder or being more religious. It’s about receiving new life through Christ. When Jesus touches a cold, dead heart, He doesn’t just warm it up—He sets it on fire with passion for God. This is the Gospel in its purest form: God’s power to bring life where there was only death. If you’re feeling spiritually cold today, don’t despair. That’s exactly where Jesus loves to work. He specializes in impossible cases and dead situations. Your current spiritual temperature doesn’t define your future. Jesus is in the business of resurrection, and He wants to breathe new life into your heart right now.
Bible Verse
‘I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and
give you a heart of flesh.’ – Ezekiel 36:26
Reflection Question
In what areas of your life do you feel spiritually ‘dead’ or disconnected from God, and how might Jesus
want to bring new life to those places?
Quote
Jesus didn’t come to make bad men good and good men better. Jesus came to make dead men live.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You that You came to make dead hearts live. I confess that I cannot resurrect myself or
manufacture spiritual passion on my own. Please breathe new life into the cold areas of my heart and
transform me from the inside out. Amen.
