Devotional
Your hunger isn’t a problem to be solved—it’s a feature, not a bug. You are actually designed to hunger, designed for desire and yearnings. This is part of our DNA, part of being made in the image of God himself.

Think about it: God is never satisfied with injustice, never content with sin, always yearning for relationship with His people. That divine restlessness, that holy dissatisfaction with the status quo, is reflected in us. We’re not meant to be content with mediocrity or fulfilled by temporary pleasures.

But here’s where we often get confused. We take this God-given hunger and try to satisfy it with God-substitutes. We think achievement, money, a bigger house, or a new car will fill the void. We agree intellectually that only Jesus can satisfy us, but do we live like it?

The problem isn’t that we desire—it’s that we desire the wrong things. We’ve been conditioned to believe that satisfaction comes from accumulation, that fulfillment comes from achievement. But every time we reach these goals, we discover they’re insufficient.

Emmanuel means ‘God with us.’ The reason God had to dwell among us is because He alone can fulfill the void in your life and mine. That restless energy, that constant searching, that feeling that something is missing—it’s all pointing you toward your Creator.

Your hunger is holy. It’s meant to drive you to the only One who can truly satisfy.

Bible Verse
“Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever
believes in me will never be thirsty.'” – John 6:35

Reflection Question
How can you redirect your God-given hunger away from worldly pursuits and toward a deeper relationship with Jesus?

Quote
You are actually designed to hunger. You are designed for desire, for yearnings. Like, this is a part of our DNA. In fact, it’s a part of us being made in the image of God himself.

Prayer
Father, thank You for creating me with a hunger that only You can satisfy. Help me embrace this holy restlessness and let it drive me closer to You rather than toward empty substitutes. Amen.
