Saved to Be Sent | Monday
Devotional
Have you ever wondered why God saved you? Was it just to secure your eternal destiny, or is there something more? The truth is both beautiful and challenging: salvation comes with a purpose. When Jesus transforms a life, He doesn’t just rescue us from something—He rescues us for something.
Think about the last time you received an incredible gift. Your natural response was probably to tell someone about it, to share your excitement. That’s exactly what happens when we truly grasp what Jesus has done for us. We can’t help but want others to experience the same freedom, peace, and joy we’ve found.
Yet many of us live as if our salvation is a private matter, something to be quietly cherished but not openly shared. We’ve somehow separated being saved from being sent, as if they’re two different things. But they’re not. They’re two sides of the same coin.
Every day, you encounter people who are searching for hope, meaning, and purpose. They may not say it outright, but their lives reveal their need. Your coworker struggling with anxiety, your neighbor going through a divorce, the cashier who seems overwhelmed—these are divine appointments waiting to happen.
You don’t need a theology degree or special training to share what God has done in your life. You simply need to be willing to let others see the difference Jesus has made. Your story of transformation, no matter how quiet or dramatic, has the power to point others toward the same hope you’ve found.
The question isn’t whether you’re qualified to share the Gospel—it’s whether you’re willing to let your light shine in the darkness around you.
Bible Verse
“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.” – Luke 8:16
Reflection Question
How has your understanding of salvation changed when you consider that being saved and being sent are inseparable parts of God’s plan for your life?
Quote
If you are saved by the power of Jesus, then you are sent for the purpose of Jesus.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for saving me not just from eternal separation, but for a purpose that extends beyond myself. Help me see my salvation as both a gift to treasure and a mission to embrace. Give me courage to let my light shine wherever You place me today.
