GABC COVID UPDATES

IMPORTANT NEWS
JULY 6, 2020

ALL GABC GROUP ACTIVITIES ARE POSTPONED

As the result of the concern for the growing number of COVID-19 exposures, not only in the East Texas community at large, but directly within our own GABC ministry areas, effective immediately…

We are postponing ALL on-campus group meetings and activities through the end of July.

The ONLY group activity that will continue on campus during July is Sunday Morning Worship, and that will be under week-by-week evaluation.

BUILDING ACCESS

In addition to postponing all group activities, with the exception of Sunday Morning Worship hours, all public access to the GABC Facilities will be restricted.

Door #1, the Weekday Entrance to the Lighthouse will no longer be open during the week. You may still meet with staff members in their offices by appointment, but the staff member will have to provide access to the building.

The Bookstore will also be closed, with the exception of Sunday Morning during Morning Worship hours.

The Café will be open for individuals during the week and on Sunday morning, subject to ongoing review. However, Door #10 on Barbara Street, adjacent to the Café, will be the only weekday access to the Café.

We sincerely regret the inconvenience this immediate change of plans may create for all of our groups, and for the multitudes of you who are so deeply involved in those groups. However, based on the facts of which we are aware, and the overriding concern we have for the health and safety of all of our GABC members and families, we confidently believe that this is the only responsible option at this time.

WHAT’S NEXT?

We will continue to monitor the development of the facts, both in the community and within our immediate ministry areas, throughout the month of July. We are looking forward to being able to share more positive news as the month of August approaches.

In the meantime, we encourage you to continue to be on the alert for those special opportunities for ministry that are being created by this unique season, and to particularly be on the alert for folks who may need a special word of encouragement during this momentary step-back. You may be exactly the encourager they are looking for.

So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it. (1 Thessalonians 5:11 MSG)
