Pastor David O. Dykes

David Orlo Dykes is the Green Acres Baptist Church Senior Pastor, providing leadership since 1991. He holds a B.A. from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, an M.Div. and D.Min. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He performed his post-doctoral studies in Renaissance Art at Cambridge University in Cambridge, England and earned a D.D. from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, TX. David previously served as Pastor at Tallaweka Baptist Church in Tallasee, AL, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Oneonta, AL and Pastor at First Baptist Church in Gardendale, AL.

David is a prolific author of several books and publications, including: Handling Life’s Disappointments, Ten Requirements for America’s Survival, Daniel: Character Out of Chaos, Angels Really DO Exist, Finding Peace in Your Pain, No, That’s NOT in the Bible, Revelation: God’s Final Word, What Healthy Churches Do, What Healthy Pastors Do, How Healthy Disciples Live, Jesus: Storyteller, Hope When You Need It Most, Following Jesus in the Holy Land, and Lord, Heal Our Land. He has also penned two novels under the name David Orlo, The Cloud Strike Prophecy and The Jerusalem Protocol.

David and his wife, Cindy, have two married daughters and four grandchildren. David enjoys reading, writing, playing golf and leading inspirational tours to Israel. Pastor David has been preaching since 1970 and is committed to the verse-by-verse teaching of God’s Word. He believes in the power of God’s Spirit energizing God’s Word for God’s people.

Ken Warren

Ken Warren joined the GABC staff in 2001 after serving 15 years at First Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He holds a B.S and M.S from Baylor University, rounding out his instruction with a Masters of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has formerly held positions at First Baptist Church, Duncanville, Texas, First Baptist Church, Ardmore, Oklahoma and served eight years as a high school teacher in Waco, Texas. Ken and his wife, Jaime, have two children and three grandchildren.

Associate Pastor, Worship

Mike Parks

Mike Parks is the Associate Pastor for Worship. He holds an A.A. from Northeast Mississippi Junior College, a Bachelor of Music from Memphis State University and an M.M. in Church Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Mike is a veteran staff member, joining the GABC ranks in 1991. He has served at First Baptist Church in Okolona, Mississippi, Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia, Mississippi, Hilldale Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama and Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton, Mississippi.

Mike and is wife, Jo, have been married since 1980 and have two children and two grandchildren. Mike enjoys traveling, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Dale Pond

Dale Pond is the Green Acres Missions Minister. He holds a B.A. from Hardin Simmons University and an M.A. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Serving since 2004, he previously worked for First Baptist Church of Midland in Midland, TX as Minister of Missions/Recreation. Dale and his wife, Judy, have three children and five grandchildren.

Brett Cavett

Brett Cavett is the GABC Stewardship Director, joining our staff in 2003. He holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from Texas Tech University. Prior to Green Acres, Brett worked in Lubbock, TX for Southwestern Cardiovascular Surgical Associates in Lubbock and Caraway, McMahon and Company, CPAs. He also has experience with Price Waterhouse in Denver, CO. Brett and his wife, Linda, have two children.

Adult Transformation Minister

Tim Roberts

Tim Roberts is the Adult Transformation Minister. H holds a B.B.A. in Economics/Management and an M.B.A. from Baylor University. He also earned an M.A. in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Tim has an abundant background in education and instruction and is currently a Adjunct Professor of Economics at the University of Texas at Tyler. Prior to coming to Green Acres in 2003, he was an instructor at Hankammer School of Business at Baylor University in Waco, TX, a Minister of Education at DeSoto Baptist Church in DeSoto, TX, an Adjunct Professor of Economics at Dallas Baptist University, Minister of Education at First Baptist Church in McAllen, TX and Minister of Education/Administration at New Hope First Baptist Church in Cedar Park, TX.

Tim enjoys cooking, day hiking and IndyCar and online sim racing. He and his wife, Jan, have two children.
