What is CityServe?

CityServe is a movement focused on encouraging, equipping, and empowering the Body of Christ to love and serve our region through united, long-term efforts focused on the area’s greatest needs.

We believe that everyone in East Texas should hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and His followers should serve in their communities to bring Shalom.

CityServe provides opportunities for the Church in East Texas to set aside differences and come together with the goal of producing a pattern of love and care modeled by Jesus Christ. Our serving together will lead to long-lasting impact and our community seeing Jesus more clearly. It will culminate in CityFest East Texas’s two-day festival in October.

Ending Homelessness

God cares for the poor and afflicted. The discouraged. The hopeless. That’s where His heart is. So, we too, will unite to serve a community experiencing some of these circumstances. We see vulnerable women and children, addicted and oppressed, hungry and hurting, living on the streets. In the woods. In shelters around East Texas.

Racial Reconciliation

East Texas is a beautiful region that has been called a place of peace and tranquility, a wonderful place to raise a family, and a community of faith. While these are beautiful details that some residents experience and celebrate, it’s not the experience for all people. In fact, the experience of East Texas for people of color is drastically different than those of the majority.

Children all across the United States, and specifically in East Texas, live in broken homes. These sometimes-stressful conditions affect even the best single mother or father. Academic success, character development, emotional stability are all key areas that can be reduced when one parent isn’t in the life of a child. We have a great opportunity to impact the current and future generation in the name of Jesus.
