A Note from Chance Riehl

Hello Green Acres Family!

What a weekend we have coming up!  It’s Thursday afternoon here at the church as I am writing this note to you.  By this time every week, all preparations are basically complete for our worship services.  We have planned all week long, we have prayed for you all week long, and we have asked the Lord to use our weekend for His glory.  Now is the time I begin to get excited about what God will do in the life of Green Acres in the next few days and in YOUR life as well!

This Sunday, we have a bunch of baptisms scheduled!  Nothing is more exciting than witnessing a baptism with the body of Christ.  What an incredible sign that God is alive, well and on the move inside of our church!  When all of us together are privileged to witness a baptism, I’m always reminded of the role and responsibility of a church to it’s people.  We are called to support, pray for, do life with, and love those new believers as they join the family of God and our local body of believers.  No matter how young or old someone might be, they need support from their church family as they begin their journey with Christ.  That includes YOU!  As we worship together this weekend and witness all of these baptisms, let’s take seriously our job to encourage our new brothers and sisters in the Lord!  What an incredible task to be given!

Also, make sure you stop by the main Worship Center foyer and check out our new baptism wall if you haven’t had a chance to just yet.  Everyone who gets baptized from here on will have the opportunity to sign that wall and leave their mark on the history of what God is doing here.  I look forward to the day where that wall is full of 10,000 signatures and tells the incredible story of God’s faithfulness.  Wont that be amazing?

I also wanted to make sure that you were invited to something really fun this coming Saturday evening!  In our church’s North Parking Lot, right on the Christmas tree pad, our Soul’d Out Jazz Orchestra will present their concert, “Tailgates and Tunes”.  The concert begins at 6pm!  Bring your lawn chairs, some food and some friends!  SOJO is one of the premiere Jazz Bands in the State of Texas and the entertainment plus great fellowship will be hard to beat on this Saturday night.  Look forward to seeing you there!

As always, I am humbled to serve here at Green Acres.  I count it one of my greatest blessings.  I am so excited about this weekend and I can’t wait to celebrate our great God and lives transformed this Sunday!  See you there!

Love you all,

Chance Riehl
