GABC Women can find a safe place at Green Acres to grow in their relationship with God, to serve with joy, to find answers to the challenges of life, and to develop life-long friendships. Linda has served as Women’s Minister at GABC for 20 year. She has authored A Little Book about Knowing a Big God for children; Women at the Cross and Connecting Women: A Guide for Leaders in Women’s Ministry, by Revell; as well as His Story My Story, a digital download available from LifeWay. Linda and her husband of 42 years are the parents of four young adults and grandparents of six granddaughters.

This seven-week study provides a safe place for women who want to know how to respond with truth and in love to this deep wound. The evening group begins in September and will meet off campus. Young Women's Minister
Amanda Thornton is the Young Women's Minister and leads the S.H.E. women’s ministry, encouraging young women age 20-40 to “Seek Him Earnestly” (Psalm 63:1) through discipleship, worship, prayer and daily living. She has a master's degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in Interdisciplinary Studies—Psychology, Speech Communication and Criminal Justice and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Centenary College of Louisiana. She helped design and co-author a work-in-progress, "Stepping Stones—God’s Unfolding Plan of Salvation: A Chronological Bible Study Course for Diverse Groups." Amanda has served as executive director of two Christian Women’s Job Corps sites: CWJC Tyler and a second site during her time in Mississippi of which, under her leadership, was selected for the National Site Award. She has been recognized by the United States President's office for giving over 1,000 hours of volunteer service to outreach missions in Northeast Mississippi and was also selected by Mississippi State University as Outstanding Community Woman in 2012. She and her meteorologist husband, Robert Thornton, recently returned to the Tyler area from Mississippi with their two preschoolers, Caralise and Caleb.
