The Women's Ministry offers a safe place with diverse opportunities for women to discover answers to questions arising from their bewildering world. We offer Bible studies especially for women, in addition to many other social events and activities. The women of Green Acres Baptist Church are an integral part of the mission of GABC. There are many opportunities to get involved. It is our desire that you find a place to grow spiritually as well as a place to serve faithfully. Marketplace Christian Women
Marketplace Christian Women (MCW) addresses the unique needs of women who work outside the home. Since approximately sixty percent of the Green Acres women are Marketplace Christian Women with diverse needs, we've developed a wide variety of user-friendly opportunities for spiritual nourishment on-the-run! Take advantage of one or all of the following: S.P.A., www.encouraging.com and the Thursday Connection.
 
Hispanic Women
We offer an Hispanic Women's Conference each Fall hosted by Spanish speaking women in a time of Bible study, leadership development and mentoring.
 
Domestic Violence
Issues addressed in Keeping the Faith, Questions Christian Women Ask About Domestic Violence. Copies are available at no cost at the Women's Table located in the foyer of the Adult Education Building.
 
Job Corps
Christian Women's Job Corps (CWJC) combines life and job skills classroom instruction with mentoring to assist women in moving from dependency to self-sufficiency and employability.
 
Email Group
Ministry in Motion Informs women by email when a ministry opportunity develops. Women can pray or respond as they feel led.
 
Mentoring
Woman2Woman offers a structured opportunity for women to learn from one another.

New Member Shepherding
This group organizes teams of women to welcome new members through personal contact, notes and phone calls to acquaint them with their new church family.
 
Caring Hands
Meets the first Thursday of every month, producing creative products for needs throughout the community.
 
UT Health Center Outreach
This group visits weekly to offer encouraging words and warm smiles to patients.

Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)
MOPS is a place of rest, instruction, support, and encouragement for mothers of infants through kindergarten age children. It offers a place to discover biblical principles relevant to your season of life, where women can make new friends, share experiences, laugh together, and express their creativity. Join us as we support one another in that all-important task of motherhood.
 

 

Linda Lesniewski

Women's Minister

Linda  is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin and taught children with learning disabilities for five years before assuming responsibilities at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. She has recently completed the Women's Certificate Program at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She serves as a Lifeway Trainer for Women's Enrichment Ministry and is a contributor to the book Transformed Lives: Taking Women's Ministry to the Next Level.

She is the mother of four young adults. Her husband, Gary, is the General Manager of two Christian radio stations in Tyler where she co-produced "Lollipops", a children's music radio program. She's also authored A Little Book About Knowing A Big God for Children, Women at the Cross, and Connecting Women: A Relational Guide for Women in Leadership (Baker House).
