FREEDOM CELEBRATION COUNTDOWN: 17 WEEKS
ARE YOU PRAYING
daily for God to bring many people to faith in Christ during Freedom Celebration? We can have the nicest facility and the best guest speakers, but unless YOU bring your friends who need Jesus, Freedom Celebration will just be a gathering of believers. That's NOT our purpose. Freedom Celebration is for sharing the good news with men, women, boys and girls who don't have the assurance that they will go to heaven when they die. YOU could make an eternal difference in their lives by BRINGING them to Freedom Celebration.
THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS
for our group as we ministered to the missionaries in Guatemala last weekend. It was a wonderful experience for us. I was so proud of every person from Green Acres who demonstrated God's love in tangible ways to these servants of Christ. I am always refreshed to meet the amazing people that have answered God's call to leave their homes and plant their lives in a foreign land to share the good news of Jesus. I'm thrilled to report that God is up to GREAT things in our world these days, and there has never been a better time to be a part of the church of the Lord Jesus than 2010!! And I heard that Lanny and our students did a FANTASTIC job in our absence! GABC's got Talent? (No, we have GIFTED people!)
DON'T TOUCH THAT (CLOCK) DIAL!
On Saturday night, March 13, don't set your clocks forward to Daylight Saving Time. Each spring at GABC, we DON'T spring forward until after church on Sunday. So don't worry about forgetting, because all you have to do is NOTHING! Just leave your clock on Standard Time and enjoy an extra hour's sleep!
TEXAS HOPE 2010
is an effort to share the gospel with EVERY person in Texas before Easter. Along with thousands of other Texas Baptist churches we will personally deliver an evangelistic CD to people who live in our neighborhoods. This evangelistic CD contains amazing video testimonies from real people (all ages and ethnic backgrounds) who have had a life-changing experience with Jesus Christ. On Saturday morning, March 27 we are going to deliver 5,000 of these CD's to neighborhoods in East Texas. The cover of the CD also has an invitation for people to join us for our Easter Celebration on April 4.
WE NEED MANY VOLUNTEERS
to help us deliver these CDs around Tyler on March 27. It's going to take 100 teams each distributing 50 CDs. We NEED your help! So, if you'd be willing to give us a Saturday morning to spread HOPE around Tyler, please sign up to help us that morning. You can volunteer at the Welcome Center, or the Bethany Suite. Or you can volunteer by emailing Amy at amym@mail.gabc.org.
THE NEED IS STILL GREAT IN HAITI.
"Crutches Across Texas" is gathering used crutches to be refurbished and sent to Haiti. Please drop off crutches at "Build A Bear Workshop" in the mall, Salvation Army or Goodwill Super Store. Mercy Ships will ship the crutches to Haiti and a couple of organizations, including Texas Baptist Men, will help with distribution.
