United States Missions

The Ministry of Green Acres does not stop in Tyler. The United States, along with Canada, support the Acts 1:8 model of missions by reaching out to those in our “Judea.” Numerous mission trips are taken around the United States each year to reach out those in our own country.

Disaster Relief Team
The Disaster Relief Ministry is one of Green Acres' busiest ministries. Volunteers work with the Baptist General Convention of Texas and the local American Red Cross in ministering during natural disasters and terrorist activities. In the past the state convention has called out all disaster relief teams to help during floods and fire.

What can you do to help? You must be certified by the local American Red Cross and/or trained by the Disaster Relief department of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The team cooks and distributes meals or clears debris as needed during natural disasters. Green Acres Disaster Relief team has a shower/laundry unit that is deployed with a feeding unit during disaster relief efforts.

Volunteer Christian Builders (VCB)

Through a state-wide network, VCB provides assistance in any stage of construction, from laying foundation to hanging drywall. Many VCB members live out of their RV s on site, while others may stay with church members on in hotels. Group members have also been available for projects at GABC or local missions projects.

GABC Church Planting Partners
GABC partners with the following three church plants and a church planting network called Seattle Church Planters. We engage with them in prayer, giving and going. If you or someone you know is interested in church planting please connect with us.

  • The Commons

The Commons is a church under the direction of Steven Bezner, dedicated to living life with our common God - Jesus Christ - and to fulfilling an uncommon goal, sharing Him with the city of Fort Worth, and from there - the world. They want to make common people into multiplying disciples who make multiplying churches and to see the city transformed one life at a time by Jesus Christ and His grace.
  • Vista Church

Vista Church is an exciting new church located in Heartland, TX that desires to see lives, families and communities transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. The entire mission of Vista Church is summed up in three words: "Christ... Community... Cause". We are committed to connecting people with Christ, His community of faith and His worldwide cause.

  • Restoration Church

Restoration Church seeks to restore neighborhoods through and to radical dependence on Jesus. The people of Restoration exist to strengthen the communities around Portland, OR through dependence on the unsurpassed love of Jesus, cultivate neighborhoods of Spirit-led followers of Jesus that enjoy God, redemptively engage the city, and reach the world.

  • Seattle Church Planters

This network is a tremendous resource for engaging Seattle with the Gospel and planting churches among the people there. They have extensive trainings, local and national connections and years of experience to help church planters succeed in the place God has called them to.
