GraceWorks is a multifaceted ministry of Green Acres Baptist Church that includes many areas of service to the body of Christ, including Marriage and Family Ministries. GraceWorks Counseling Ministry provides couples and family therapy designed to help you find Biblical solutions to the common problems we face in having healthy relationships.
In addition to pre-marital counseling, couples therapy, and family therapy, GraceWorks also offers marriage seminars like Nearly Newly Wed for those about to enter or who are already in their first marriage year of marriage. Happily Even After is designed for couples entering or already in their second or beyond marriage.
We hope you will take a few minutes to explore the GraceWorks menu. We ask that you read more about our areas of ministry, get to know our staff and learn how to set an appointment with one of our counselors. We are here to serve the body of Christ at Green Acres and Smith County. We look forward to working with to help your relationships become all God has planned.
These Marriage Enrichment Seminars are completely FREE. We partner with the “Twogether in Texas” state program which focuses upon building healthy marriages. Each seminar is 8 weeks in length and those couples who attend the minimum of 6 sessions will receive a certificate that enables them to receive their Marriage License at a reduced fee of $22 vs. $82.
Nearly Newlywed Seminar
A seminar designed for engaged couples or those married less than two years. Through experience and insight, couples will be taught the foundational truths concerning how to build and maintain a strong marriage. Participating couples learn about communication skills, conflict resolution, financial management, decision making, role responsibilities, sexual intimacy, and healthy boundaries concerning both parents and in-laws.
Happily Even-After Seminar
This seminar is for couples who are about to be married for the second time around, or for those who’ve been remarried two or less years. Second Marriages become successful when approached with the right attitude, the right tools and the right plan. You cannot make the past better, but you can have a future that you never dreamed of. This seminar mirrors much of the Nearly Newly Wed seminar but from a different perspective. Happily Even After has a strong focus on dealing with the blending of families, step-parenting and dealing with the ex-spouse.
