January 4, 2009
DURING THIS MONTH
I'm going to challenge you to Get Good and M.A.D. in 2009! Remember, M.A.D. stands for Make A Difference!" There has never been a time in our nation's history when there has been a greater need for individuals to step forward and make a difference in the lives of people.
HOPE FOR 100 IS A NEW MINISTRY
we've launched to help you accept our challenge to make a difference in the lives of 100 orphans through adoption or foster care. Our goal is provide “Families for the Fatherless.” Over the next two Sundays we're going to be highlighting this challenge. Don't worry, we're not going to ask you to stand up and volunteer to adopt a child! All I'm asking you to do is to start praying and opening your heart to the part God would have you play in changing the lives of 100 of His precious children.
ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 31
we're hosting an “If You Were Mine Conference” in the Lighthouse. Any couple or individual who is interested in learning more about adoption or foster care is invited to come and have all your questions answered. Meanwhile, check out the great website www.hopefor100.org.
NEXT SUNDAY MORNING, MY FRIEND, DR. JEROME MILTON
will be here to share his amazing personal testimony. Abandoned at the age of 10 months, Jerome spent much of his childhood in foster homes, and in one of the worst orphanages in California. You'll hear how his life was headed for crime and ruin until he was adopted and loved by a Godly woman who Made A Difference in his life. Because of her, God turned his life around and he was awarded a full scholarship from UCLA in football and track and graduated Magna Cum Laude from UCLA. He is currently pastor of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church here in Tyler and for years has been Athletic Director and Head Track and Field Coach at T.K. Gorman High School. In addition he is a foster parent who has adopted 6 children. His story will bless you and challenge you, I promise!
PRAISE GOD FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!
We have met and exceeded our World Mission Offering Goal of $500,000! Even in these times of economic uncertainty, I knew that your love for and support of Global Missions would not decline. I'm PROUD OF YOU!
Let's REALLY Make A Difference
